I first heard about John Butler about a year ago. When I decided to come to Australia, he was one of the musicians I really wanted to see – he is one of the best known Australian artists.
Last night I saw him in concert at the Sydney Metro Theatre. It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Armed with a variety of guitars, John Butler doesn’t need percussion or brass or keyboards. His music sucks you in – it’s almost like you’re in a trance. He’s also extremely funny and did a lot of talking in between the songs.
